Starting up again |

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. There have been some technical difficulties mixed in with not a lot of free time. Starting now however, things have been taken care of and posting will resume. First and foremost, I'd like to mention an addition to this blog that will happen tomorrow (Sunday). In the outlook menu at the top of the page, there will be added "Calender" which when selected will bring up a page with a five week outlook for Keene, NH. For the moment, I'd suggest that you NOT use this for planning long term events, as this is new and I will be testing to see the best ways of looking ahead up through 35 days.
Now for weather.
While I was gone, there were a bunch of notable events. First, Keene saw its first snowfall during the morning of November 2nd (Thursday). This was after a very warm Halloween. At 1000ft, a coating of snow accumulation was noted, but in the downtown area, there was no accumulation. On Saturday, November 4th (two days later) cold remained in the area and snow flurries and snow showers fell again in parts of southwest NH. No accumulation was noted. Then the week of November 5th came around (where we are now). While cold weather held on into the early part of the week. Above average temperatures took hold of the region on Thursday after 24 hours straight of steady rain. Accumulations of 2 to 3 inches were noted across the region as well as some flooding. The warmth has continued into today and rain will revisit the region tonight through Monday. Another duluge is possible and flooding could be an issue once more. Yet another rain event will affect the area then this Thursday and finally, behind that storm, temperatures may fall back to near average. It appears likely that significant cold will be kept out of the Northeast for the rest of November. Average to below average temperatures could visit the region around Thanksgiving, with possibly a mixed precipitation event but nothing out of the ordinary for late November. Storm updates will begin later this afternoon as the rain approaches. Stay tuned.
