At this point, I think a "heavy-snow-cancel" is in order. My suspicions from this morning have been backed up by notable shifts west by the Euro and Ukmet. The NWS has also recognized this, but have not withdrawn the winter storm watch, as still anticipating a period of heavy snow tomorrow evening. I will have a new snowfall forecast out within the next couple of hours. At this moment, Im thinking few changes in NY and northern VT, however westward shifts of highest amounts in Maine and New Hampshire. I will clear most of SNE of accumulating snows, with only western and central MA and southern NH seeing over an inch. I still anticipate at least 4 inches of snow in Cheshire County.
It is now time to put focus on flood and wind potential as this storm winds up. I will have details later this evening.
The one option the next 24 hours holds is the slight chance of redevelopment further east. 1800z surface analysis showed pressure falls nearly everywhere east of the Mississippi River. The points of largest falls were located in southern Michigan, western West Virginia, and South Carolina. The significant pressure falls in SC are somewhat recent, and if that takes off, we could have a whole new ballgame.
