Had a good period of sunshine between 10 and 1400. Air temp up to 84 at 1:35 with a dew point of 68. Clouds have begun to build, and severe thunderstorms have developed southwest of New England. However, a moderate cap remains across New England, keeping thunderstorm formation at bay. Once the cap breaks, count on speedy development and strengthening of storms. The question is whether it will be in time for Keene to get a good hit. It is looking more likely that the answer is no, and that Keene can expect only shower activity through this evening. The one thing that remains certain is that severe weather is likely for southeastern New England later this afternoon.
